Authentic Italian Gelato
On October 10, 2018, Papa Gelateria LLC was founded by Alexander Papa, then age 17, to share his love of authentic Italian Gelato and Sorbetto with Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.
Originating in the Italian Renaissance, real Italian Gelato is super creamy, silky, dense, and intense, slowly churned with over 50% less air than Ice Cream and Frozen Custard, has drastically less butterfat than Ice Cream and Frozen Custard, and is served warmer with a much more intense flavor, and less frozen taste buds, than Ice Cream and Frozen Custard. Gelato is made in small batches with the highest quality ingredients.
Papa Gelateria in Youngstown OH
Papa Gelateria has expanded to Penguin City Brewing Company in Youngstown Ohio. We want to thank the team at Penguin City Beer for making this possible and for helping us begin the process of setting up inside their amazing brewery downtown.
Penguin City’s address is 460 E Federal St, Youngstown OH 44503. Our freezer will be set up right behind the bar for easy and convenient ordering. We will be open in Youngstown the same hours Penguin City is currently open. They are listed below for your convenience:

Saturday- 12pm-12am
Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday: Closed
We will be serving 8-10 flavors with various cup sizes starting out. We hope to expand to offer Gelato Beer floats and/or Alcoholic milkshakes in the near future!

The New Castle Gelateria is located in the former carriage house on the grounds of a beautiful, Victorian Mansion in the National Historic District of the City of New Castle.
The Gelateria has indoor and outdoor seating with amazing views, perched amongst the trees overlooking downtown New Castle.

Our Hours are Noon-9pm, Tuesday-Sunday, Closed Monday.
We are open seasonally, April-October every year.

Exciting changes to our new wilmington location
Bakluva Bakery is taking over the day-to-day operations and management of our former New Wilmington location. They are remodeling to offer not only our amazing gelato, but wraps, salads, baklava, espresso, and more.
In preparation of this menu expansion and management change, we will be closed effective December 31st until spring of 2023. We look forward to continuing to serve your favorite gelato flavors in New Wilmington. We would like to thank Dino and everyone at Bakluva for this amazing partnership opportunity!
Bakluva’s Story
As immigrants to the United States from Greece in 1975, Vasilios and Kalliope (Kelly) Neofotistos planted roots in New Castle, PA. After years of hard work, the Neofotistos family started their own restaurant in Grove City, PA- with Mrs. Neofotistos’s baklava taking center stage on the menu and in the hearts of the community. As their business and family continued to grow, they never forgot their beginnings. The Neofotistos family is paying it forward by spreading the love they received from their community through the love put into their signature Bakluva.
